Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus boot animation pulled to install on any device

The Nexus Prime, or the Galaxy Nexus as we have now come to know it, has been delayed but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a piece of Galaxy Nexus action right now.  The boot animation for the upcoming device has been posted on MyDroidWorld and is ready to be installed on any Android device, rooted or otherwise.  Here are a few general instructions if you are rooted:

  1. Download the file and drop it on your SD card.
  2. Reboot your phone into recovery.
  3. Choose “install zip from sd card.”
  4. ”Choose zip from sd card.”
  5. Select the file you downloaded from above.
  6. Once it finishes running choose “Go Back” and then reboot!

For those not rooted yet, the file will need to be pushed via adb:

Extract bootanimation.zip from /data
then using adb type adb push bootanimation /data/local
