Microsoft Teams Up With Klout to Hold Popularity Contest: Plans to Give Away 500 Free Devices

Microsoft is hoping to get its Windows Phone devices into the right hands these days by pairing up with Klout, a social media analytics service, that determines a person’s level of influence over their social network and gives them an actual Klout score. Armed with 500 Windows Phone devices ready to give away, Microsoft is also offering up VIP passes to one of the five Windows Phone launch parties across the country. Winners will be selected by their Klout score and if they live in the same city as one of the five launch fiestas.

It’s an interesting marketing strategy, and we know there is no better marketing than real word of mouth. Better yet, if it comes from someone you see as being socially ‘popular’, we’re sure it has the possibility to help stengthen the Windows Phone reputation. According to Klout’s official blog, “top influencers are trusted by their audience to share their real opinions and more and more brands are recognizing this power.”

Think you have enough Klout to be a contender for a free Windows Phone and a chance to cross the red rope for some VIP action? Head over to the source link to learn more.
