iOS users can now take advantage of Google’s first major update to their Gmail app for Apple devices. The new version allows users to set a mobile signature, and now provides stock vacation responses. Perks to having iOS 5 is that users can look forward to custom notification sounds as an added bonus. Additional tweaks include various bug fixes, improved nested labels, and several small user interface adjustments.

This update is the first one of its kind since the Gmail app reappeared on the App Store after it was originally pulled. Google was forced to pull the app back shortly after it was first launched due to a huge notification bug.

The Gmail app for iOS does require devices to run iOS 4 or higher.
