iOS 5.1 Update Rolling Out Now, Gives AT&T Users ‘4G’

As expected, the iOS 5.1 software update is now rolling out to iPhones, iPads and compatible iPod touches. The update offers a variety of enhancements, bug fixes, and Japanese language support for Siri. iOS users can also look forward to a revamped camera app for the iPad and the ability to delete individual pictures from Photo Stream. Additionally, the camera shortcut will now always appear on the lockscreen for iPhone and iPod touch users.

Anyone who completes the update will notice the “updated AT&T network indicator”. Essentially, now users will see a 4G icon whenever  HSPA+ coverage is available. Sadly, this doesn’t mean you will actually get faster network speeds, but at least you’ll feel cooler sporting a ‘4G’ iPhone.
