Rumor: HTC One X Headed to Sprint June 10th, Flying Under the Radar as the “HTC Jet”
The rumors are flying as unnamed internal sources close to Sprint have pegged the elusive HTC One X to be one of Sprint’s next LTE handsets. Reportedly, the One X is creeping under the radar with “HTC Jet” as its code name. The “HTC Jet” is expected to make its debut to Sprint consumers as early as June 10th.
While all of the recent buzz remains sheer speculation at this point, the specs for the “HTC Jet” match up perfectly to the LTE variant of the One X. The “HTC Jet” brags a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz versus the Tegra 3 chip which will only ship for non-LTE models in other markets. Additional spec highlights include a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 SLCD display, 1GB RAM, NFC, Gorilla Glass 2 and a polycarbonate unibody.
The HTC One X/Jet is HTC’s new flagship smartphone and is targeted directly at Samsung’s Galaxy S II and the upcoming Galaxy S III. Let’s hope that this handset is enough to help HTC regain some of their lost market share.
