ICS Build Leaks Early for the Samsung Galaxy Note

Samsung told us that ICS wasn’t going to hit the Galaxy Note until Q2 due to a software suite full of premium applications meant to optimized the device’s S Pen. However, anyone clutching onto their Phablet can now fist pump, as a leaked build of ICS has just been released out into the wild thanks to RootzWiki. The forum feedback over at RootzWiki has been overwhelmingly positive, which is always good news. As far as the installation is concerned, the file is only up for grabs as an EXE, so be prepared  to use Windows to flash this leak to your device.

So what else can eager Note owners expect with this build? Sadly, Samsung’s Premium Suite for the Galaxy Note is not found in this build, TouchWiz is reported to crash upon first boot, and some one-time bugs when you add a Google Play account. Besides the aforementioned bugs the system is reported to run smoothly. Here is what RootzWiki reports as working features:

  • Face Unlock is fully functional
  • LTE connections are solid and up to speed
  • Phone calls work great both ways
  • Audio quality is up to par
  • Stereo Bluetooth is fully functional
  • MMS is fully functional
  • GPS is fully functional
  • Google Talk and Video Chat work
  • Google Voice is fully functional
  • Task Manager is smooth and transitions are quick
  • Downloaded Flash video and in-browser video works flawlessly
  • Chrome autosync is fully functional
  • AT&T Hotspot functionality works, external devices connect fine
