Samsung Galaxy S Aviator Launched as US Cellular’s First LTE Smartphone

Fans of US Cellular can now rejoice a little more with their very own LTE smartphone. Say hello to the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator, or better known as the Droid Charge, which is available online and in stores today. US Cellular customers can look forward to the smartphone packing Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) under its 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch panel. Additional spec highlights include a front-facing web camera, an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera, an HDMI output and access to Google Play store. The Aviator is priced at $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and with a 2-year commitment. However, “select” LTE cities are expected to offer up the handset at a lower $99 price point.

So where can you find LTE coverage after you’ve bought the Aviator? According to US Cellular, consumers in parts of Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin are already relishing in LTE coverage.
