How to get the Samsung Galaxy Indulge (R910 and R915) Back to Stock

If you have rooted and installed ClockworkMod Recovery using our guide but wish to get your Samsung Galaxy Indulge back to stock for some reason, this post will show you how to do that exactly.  Read on to know the complete procedure.

I.  Before You Begin

1.  Back up any data that you feel is important.

2.  This procedure should work for both the R910 and R915 versions of the Galaxy Indulge.  Make sure you select the correct version to download in the next section.  If you are on MetroPCS, you have a R910 and if you are on Cricket, you should have the R915.

3.  Make sure you have the necessary drivers installed on your Windows PC before you continue.  If you haven’t done so already, use the link in the next section to download and install the same.

II.  Necessary Downloads

1.  Galaxy Indulge Stock Image – R910 | R915.

2.  Odin.

3.  Windows Drivers.

III.  Flashing the stock image to the Galaxy Indulge

1.  Extract odin-pit.zip that you downloaded above to a folder on your desktop.  You should now have a folder containing the following files:

acs-indulge.pit
Android Creative Syndicate.txt
Odin3+v1.61.exe

2.  Double-click on Odin3+v1.61.exe to open up the Odin application.

3. Click on the PIT button and select acs-indulge.pit to load it on to Odin.

4.  Click on the PDA button and select the .tar file you downloaded above (Indulge-Stock.tar if you have the R910 | SCH-R915-EE05-k0nane.tar if you have the R915).

5.  Power down your device and put it into Download Mode.  To do this:

  • Disconnect the device from your computer.
  • Remove the battery for a few seconds and then reinsert it.
  • Hold down the 9 key on the QWERTY keypad and press the Power button.
  • You should see a yellow triangle with “Downloading” displayed on the device’s screen after a few seconds.
  • Let go of the Power and 9 buttons.

6.  Connect your device to the computer.  Odin should now recognize your device and the ID:COM field should light up yellow.  If it doesn’t, try connecting to a different USB port on your computer and make sure you have necessary drivers installed.

7.  This is very important.  Make sure that the Re-Partition tickbox is unchecked.  You will definitely brick your device if you do not uncheck it!!  Only the Auto Reboot tickbox must be checked.  Use the image below to guide you.

8.  If your Odin screen looks like you see it in the picture below (if you are doing it on a R910), click Start.

Once Odin finishes and your device reboots, you should have a Galaxy Indulge that is completely stock and acceptable as unmolested by MetroPCS/Cricket!!

It should 5-7 minutes to finish the Odin Process. If it takes more time, make sure you have followed each step carefully and are NOT missing anything.

    1. it shouldn’t take that much time!! first up, did you install the necessary drivers or let Windows 7 install them when you connected your device in Download Mode?

    1. If the process is stuck somewhere, it most probably means you skipped a step somewhere. Follow them as you see them listed in the post and you should do fine!

  2. I’ve installed Odin and went through the whole process and it took three minutes and passed and reboots….but it reboots into android recovery…if i choose apply update for zip it just sits at that install screen. Also tried to wipe the cache and data reset and wont leave the recovery screen for the 910 please help

Followed the instructions.. Oden light went from yellow to green.. BUT IT DIDN’T WORK =(
..phone is still in a boot loop..

      1. Have you tried booting into recovery and wiping the cache? I’ve no idea how to do it on that model. On the S3 you hold vol-up, home and power from cold boot.

  4. Anyone having issues installing the drivers in windows 8 should “right click” the driver installer then “Compatibility tab” – Run program as Windows 7 and check box for “Run this program as administrator”

  5. Of course he is…he was trying to help you out. If you are here asking for help, maybe you should stop being a stuck up little no0b and take what is given. Not that I want to help you, but for others the way to recovery is to hold “R” key while powering on. btw- F%&K this little no0b!

  6. Hola, hice todos los pasos, Odin no dio ni un erro, el cel se reinicio y todo bien pero al encender veo que no hay cambio alguno 🙁 todo esta igual, que habre hecho mal?

  7. I did this after I got stuck in a bootloop I believe. it would go past the Samsung power up thing then black screen and vibrate a lot and then do nothing. this didn’t work. any other help would be highly appreciated.
