This one’s for all the music heads, ravers, cult followers, and wanna-be groupies. Eventful for Windows Phone 7 allows you to easily find shows happening around you. Want to know when the Jonas Brothers are playing around you? Search by artist, venue, and date to find out so you can start preparing early.
Eventful for Windows 7 uses your phone’s location service to create a comprehensive list of the shows happening in your area, and you can shrink or expand the search distance depending on how far you’re willing to go to hear some quality tunes. If you’re unsure of what to see, Eventful uses your phone’s music library to suggest upcoming shows in your area.

How It Works
- Download Eventful from the “Lifestyle / Out + About” section of your Marketplace
- Open Eventful from your App list
- Allow Eventful to access and use your location
- View events in your area today on the home screen
- Scroll to the right to view events coming up this week, weekend, suggested events based on your music library, and the shows you’ve flagged
- Select the magnifying glass in the middle center to search by artist, venue, or date (i.e. The Jonas Brothers)
- Click on a show you’d like to see to view the date, time, address, and description
- Click on the address to utilize your phone’s maps App to get directions
- Select the “…” in the lower righthand corner of the screen and choose “Settings”
- Input an alternate address to search for concerts in a different area and choose to turn your location service on or off
Conclusion
This is a great App that’s simple enough for the general public. The list of shows is pretty comprehensive, and I love that it provides directions to the venue and shows tour dates of your favorite artists. While I doubt that it’s completely comprehensive, it does do a good job of hitting most of the major shows. I’d especially recommend this for people in urban area, as this will garner the best results (and the best shows!)
