iOS App of the Day: 30/30

If you’re like me at all, sometimes getting the small things done can prove to be the most challenging. Unfortunately, I have the attention span of a gnat and I usually end up with twenty tasks open in front of me with nothing close to completion. When it comes to productivity that can quickly spell out disaster. Thankfully, I discovered an extremely helpful timer app called 30/30. This app allows its users to time their tasks and use their device’s push notifications to move on to the next task. While the concept is simple, 30/30 gives you a sleek UI with iOS native gestures to seriously boost your productivity throughout the day.

Pros:

• Free
• Timer app that helps you focus on getting a short-term task list completed
• You set the tasks and time limits and then the app sends you a push notification when it’s time to move to next task
• Minimalist UI
• iOS native gestures throughout app

Cons:

• Timer can only be set to increments of 1 hour or less

How it works:

• Download the app
• Swipe to take app tutorial
• Set up a list of tasks, and a length of time for each task
• Start the timer, and the app will alert you when it is time to move on to the next task
• Example: Task 1- Read self-help book 30 minutes Task 2- Catch up on emails 25 minutes
• The app uses all iOS native gestures
• Touch and hold to move
• Red is swipe to delete
• Double tap to edit
• Pinch apart to create
• Tap the dial to start/pause
• Touch and hold the dial to stop

Conclusion:

30/30 focuses on tackling your short-term to-do lists, as you can’t set the timer to anything over an hour. While I still use any.DO for my daily to-do list app, 30/30 has proven to be the perfect solution when I have small tasks and only a specific amount of time. I found the app extremely easy to use with its well-designed UI and native gestures unlike any other productivity app out there now.
