Archos Debuts Elements Tablet Series: Low-end ICS Slabs With Affordable Price Tags

Archos is no stranger to low-end Android devices, and as expected, they’ve unveiled another series of Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) tablets headed towards consumer hands this July. The series, otherwise known as the “Elements”, will come in three different variations including a: 7″, 8″, and a 9.7″ model. Today’s official announcement only covers the Archos 97 Carbon, which you guessed it is the 9.7″ model.

Spec highlights include a 1GHz single-core ARM Cortex A8 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 9.7″ IPS display, 16GB of internal flash memory, a micro SD card slot, Google app access, including the Play Store, and Android 4.0. The 97 Carbon weighs in at 21.8 ounces and only 0.45″ thick. If the low-end specs don’t scare you off, then you can start putting aside around $250 for the slab.
