UK Judge Forces Apple To State on Their Website That Samsung Did Not Copy The iPad’s Design
Things are heating up in the UK for Apple thanks to a recent ruling made by Judge Colin Birss. In an unexpected decision, Judge Birss ordered Apple to publish an official statement on their website that Samsung did not copy the iPad design with their Galaxy Tab devices. Apple’s law team did their best to fight the decision by stating that this would directly promote Samsung, but the Judge would have none of it and respectfully threw out Apple’s argument.
The ruling requires Apple to keep the statement on their website a total of six months in addition to publishing it in various newspapers and magazines. This decision should help dramatically improve Samsung’s image in the UK. Now if only we could get that kind of support here in the U.S.
