Rumor: Apple Given Green Light To Match Carrier and Rival Retail iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S Prices

According to a leaked memo (screenshot pictured above), Apple retail shops have now been given the green light to price match carrier and rival retail discounts on the iPhone. The memo instructs employees that prices from Best Buy, “carriers,” Radio Shack and Target can in fact be matched. Interestingly enough, the memo leaves out the other big wireless retailers like Wirefly, Amazon, Negri Electronics, and Walmart. This leads us to believe the aforementioned retailers won’t be included in the policy change. Additionally, the memo exclusively mentions the iPhone 4 and 4S only, so don’t go pushing your luck with a price match for the iPad,  or other Mac hardware.

Apple has yet to confirm the memo, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this little lady of a rumor turns out to be true. When it comes to Apple products, any discount is well worth the hassle. We’ll keep you posted as this leak works its way through the industry rumor mill.
