How to Unroot the Huawei Ascend

The main advantage of unrooting your smartphone is, you get the warranty back that you lost after rooting the device. It is recommended that you first unroot your device and only then go to the company shop for any device issues. Here’s how you can unroot the Huawei Ascend smartphone.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the guide given here.

2. The procedure works with metroPCS only.

3. Make sure your device has 60% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Unroot Package (Download link’s given in the first post, under Fastboot Method heading)

III. Unrooting the Huawei Ascend:

1. Put the Unroot Package file onto your Desktop.

2. Turn OFF your smartphone.

3. While your smartphone is turned OFF, press and hold the End Call+Volume DOWN buttons together while powering ON your device.

4. Your device should be in Fastboot mode.

5. Connect the device to your PC using the USB cable.

6. Unzip files from the Unroot Package to your Desktop.

7. Depending on the OS of your PC, launch the appropriate file:

a) Windows users, double-click the metroPCSStock-windows.bat.

b) Linux users, use the metroPCSStock-linux.sh.

c) Mac users, use the metroPCSStock-mac.sh.

8. Your device should reboot after the process has finished.

9. You’re now back to stock !

Brilliant ! You have successfully restored your device to the stock firmware that is unrooted and has stock recovery.
