How to Install TWRP Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (AT&T)

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 from AT&T has recently received the TWRP Recovery and that too from the official sources, a new addition to the custom development for the device. While the device’s already rocking a custom recovery called ClockworkMod, this new recovery will certainly going to be loved by the design fanatics as it’s driven by XML and can easily be customized if you know a bit of coding (it’s a whole different matter, though). If you’re looking for a way to get TWRP Recovery on your device, then look no further and jump onto the guide below. It explains all the steps you should follow to install TWRP Recovery on your device. Here you go:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please check out our rooting guide to root your device.

2. This will replace your current recovery with the TWRP Recovery.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. TWRP Recovery Image (Download the latest version having .img as extension)

2. Terminal EmulatorQR Code (Google Play Link)

III. Installing TWRP Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (AT&T):

1. Download and place the Recovery Image file onto your Desktop.

2. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

3. Copy the Recovery Image over to the root of your SD card.

4. Once the file’s copied, unplug your device from your PC.

5. Now head over to Google Play and install the Terminal Emulator app.

6. Once installed, open it from your Menu.

7. Enter the following command into the app:

su

8. Next, issue the following command. Make sure to replace filename.img with the actual name of the Recovery Image you downloaded.

dd if=/sdcard/filename.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p9

9. Once the recovery’s flashed on your device, reboot your device.

10. And you’re all set!

Brilliant! You’ve successfully installed TWRP Recovery on your Galaxy Note 2 (AT&T) and you should now be able to flash custom ROMs and tweaks.

      No, you should NOT do this on any device other than the one mentioned in the procedure, as it may lead to brick of your device.
