How to Root the LG Prada 3.0

When LG Prada was first announced, it was considered to be an iPhone competitor all due to its high-end specifications and an awesome design layer that LG has put on the device. If you happen to own this device, you definitely know what it can do. But there’s always a limit for Android devices that can’t be crossed until the device is rooted. Such is the case with our Prada, if you manage to root the device, you can get root-only apps running on it. These apps are designed exclusively for rooted devices and are much powerful than those normal apps you download from Google Play. If you’re interested in rooting your LG Prada, then we’ve prepared a nice guide for you just below that explains each and every step you should follow to root your device. Here you go:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. This works on Windows based PCs only.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Firmware Update (Download link’s given in the eighth post)

2. Root Package (Download link’s given in the eighth post)

III. Rooting the LG Prada:

1. Place both the files you downloaded to your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the Root Package archive over to your Desktop.

3. Open the Drivers folder you just extracted and install the drivers.

4. Open Edited Windows Hosts File folder and copy hosts file over to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ directory.

5. Open Flash Tools folder and copy the shttps folder over to your C:\ drive.

6. Open the shttps folder you just copied and run the http.exe file.

7. Run the msxml.msi file from the Flash Tools folder you have on your Desktop.

8. Install the LG Flash Tool by double-clicking on B2CAppSetup.exe file located in the Flash Tools folder.

9. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.

10. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

11. Turn OFF your device.

12. Reboot your device into Software Update mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume UP+Power buttons together.

13. Open the UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe file located in Flash Tools folder on your Desktop.

14. Select 3GQCT from the Type menu.

15. Choose Emergency as the PhoneMode.

16. In the Select KDZ file part, select the KDZ file you downloaded earlier to your Desktop.

17. Hit Normal web upgrade test button and then Upgrade start.

18. Select Different Country from the Country menu and English from the Language menu.

19. Hit the OK button.

20. Once it starts flashing the file, head over to C:\ProgramData\LGMOBILEAX\Phone directory on your PC and replace .bin file with the file you have in Patched v20d firmware part folder on your Desktop.

21. Once your device’s been flashed, run the root.bat file located in Root folder on your Desktop.

22. It’ll start rooting your device.

23. Your device should reboot several times during the process.

24. And you should be rooted now!

Excellent! After some good exertion, you now have rooted your LG Prada smartphone running the ICS. You can now flash a custom recovery, install some root-only apps and do whatever you want with your device!
