How to Change the Default Folder for Screenshots in Windows 8

Windows 8 comes with an awesome feature of taking screenshots that allows users to capture their screens and save them on their PCs. The default folder for saving screenshots is the Pictures folder located inside current user’s profile. Sometimes you may want to change this default folder to the choice of your folder, maybe due to some storage issues or something else. Here’s how you can do that:

I. Changing the Default Folder for Screenshots in Windows 8:

1. Open the Run box by pressing Windows Logo+R keys together.

2. Type in %userprofile%\pictures\screenshots and hit ENTER.

3. Right-click on any blank area on the screen and choose Properties.

4. Click on Location tab in the Properties box.

5. Click on Move… button and select the new folder where you want the screenshots to be saved.

6. Hit OK and you should be good to go!

Awesome! You’ve successfully changed the location of where screenshots are saved.
