How to Unroot the ZTE Blade 3

Maybe you’re sending in your device for warranty reasons? Maybe you just want to reclaim your warranty? Either way, this guide should help. Unrooting will reinstate the warranty of your device as well as get you back to the official stock firmware. Here’s how you can unroot your ZTE Blade 3 smartphone:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. You must have CWM Recovery installed on your device. If you don’t, head here to learn how you can flash it on your device.

3. This procedure should work on Windows based PCs only.

4. Your device should have at least 70% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Recovery (Download link’s given in the first post)

2. Stock ROM (Download the appropriate firmware for your device)

III. Unrooting the ZTE Blade 3:

1. Place both the files you downloaded to your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the Stock ROM archive over to your Desktop. You’ll get an archive called update.zip.

3. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

4. Copy the Stock Recovery as well as update.zip files available on your Desktop over to the root of your SD card.

5. Once both the files have been copied, unplug your device from your PC.

6. Now head on over to Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.

7. Once the app’s been installed, open it from your App Drawer.

8. Hit Recovery option in the app and your device will reboot into the CWM Recovery mode.

9. Once inside Recovery, choose install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.

10. Choose the Stock Recovery zip to be flashed on your device.

11. Once the stock recovery’s been flashed, reboot your device.

12. Now open the Quick Boot app once again and hit the Recovery option.

13. Once inside Recovery, choose the appropriate option to flash the Stock ROM (update.zip) file.

14. Once the flashing’s done, reboot your device.

15. You’re all done!

Brilliant! Your ZTE Blade 3 has been successfully unrooted and is back to the stock firmware.
