How to Overclock the Sony Xperia Go
Good news for the Sony Xperia Go users as they can now overclock their device and improve the overall performance of their device. This should certainly bring a smile to those users who have been complaining about slow speeds on their devices and were not able to play resource-intensive games. If you’re one of many users of the Xperia Go device and would like to know how you can overclock your device, here’s how:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the Sony Xperia Go procedure and root your device first.
2. You must have CWM Recovery installed on your device. See our guide on the same to do that.
II. Make a Backup:
1. Head over to the Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.
2. Once the app’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
3. Hit the Recovery option and you’ll reboot into the Recovery mode.
4. Once inside Recovery, select backup and restore followed by backup.
5. It’ll create a backup of your current firmware and save it on your device.
6. You’re done!
III. Downloading Required Files:
1. Phantom Kernel (Download link’s given in the third post)
IV. Flashing the Overclock Kernel on the Sony Xperia Go:
1. Place the Phantom Kernel zip onto your Desktop.
2. Connect your device to your PC via USB cable.
3. Copy the Kernel zip over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once the kernel has been copied, disconnect your device from your PC.
5. Open the Quick Boot app from your App Drawer.
6. Hit the Recovery option and you’ll reboot into the Recovery mode.
7. Once in Recovery, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.
8. Choose the Phantom Kernel zip to be flashed on your device.
9. It’ll begin flashing the kernel on your device and once it’s done, reboot your device.
10. You’re all done!
V. Overclocking the Sony Xperia Go:
1. Download and install either of these apps on your device:
2. Once installed, open the app from your App Drawer.
3. Now drag the slider or use the available option to increase your CPU clock speed. Keep on doing so as long as your device’s comfortable with it.
4. Make sure not to choose save on boot option in the app as it may crash your device.
5. Once your device becomes stable at a specific clock speed, close the app.
6. You’re all done!
Excellent! Your device’s been successfully overclocked. See the changes in the performance of your device!
VI. Reverting Back to the Stock Kernel (Optional):
1. Launch the Quick Boot app from your App Drawer.
2. Hit the Recovery option and you’ll reboot into the Recovery mode.
3. Once inside Recovery, select backup and restore followed by restore.
4. Restore the most recent backup you have there on the list.
5. It’ll begin restoring the backup and will take a couple of minutes to finish.
6. Once the backup has been restored, reboot your device.
7. You’re all done!
Cheers! You’re back to the stock kernel with stock settings!

Is Phantom Kernel a stock kernel with root or just a CM kernal or what ?
Hey dude ,u frgot to mention that an open bootloader is also needed,unless u wil much probably have bootloop!
