How to Unroot the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T)

Have you had enough playing with your Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T)? Want to unroot it to get it back to the stock firmware and start everything over? No worries, here’s how you can do that. Rooting the Galaxy S2 Skyrocket was a breeze and so is unrooting it. Just download the stock firmware and flash it on your device and you’re good to go. Here’s how:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. Make sure your device has at least 70% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Firmware (Download the appropriate firmware for your device)

2. Odin

III. Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T):

1. Download and place both the files on your Desktop.

2. Extract files from both the archives over to your Desktop.

3. Double-click on the Odin executable file and it’ll launch.

4. Click on PDA and choose the Stock Firmware file available on your Desktop.

5. Uncheck the Repartition box if it’s checked in the tool.

6. Checkmark the boxes that say Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.

7. Connect one end of the USB cable to your PC and leave the other end unplugged.

8. Turn OFF your device.

9. Press and hold the Volume UP+Volume DOWN and connect the other end of the USB cable to your device.

10. Press the Volume UP button to get into the Download mode.

11. Hit Start in the Odin and it’ll begin flashing the stock firmware on your device.

12. Since it’s a full firmware, it’ll take some good time in flashing it on your device.

13. Once the firmware’s been flashed, reboot your device.

14. You’re all done!

Brilliant! You’ve successfully unrooted your device and you’re back to the stock firmware!
