How to Root the HTC Desire 600 Dual SIM

The HTC Desire 600 is a Dual SIM smartphone that allows you to use two SIM cards simultaneously without having to eject one and insert the other. If you happen to own this stylish device, you’d be glad to know that it’s been rooted. Yes, you heard it right. With root-access on your Desire 600, you will have a number of opportunities to tweak your device the way you want to. You can tweak system settings, remove system apps, install root-only apps, to name a few. So here’s how you can go about rooting your device and getting the best out of it:

I. Before You Begin:

1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.

2. You must have unlocked bootloader of your device. You can do so by visiting the official HTC website.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. CWM Recovery (Download link’s given in the fifth post)

2. SU zip (Download link’s given in the fifth post)

3. Fastboot

III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the HTC Desire 600 Dual SIM:

1. Download and place all three files onto your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the Fastboot archive over to your Desktop.

3. Turn OFF your device.

4. Turn it back on by holding down Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.

5. Select Fastboot from the menu that appears on your screen.

6. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

7. Launch a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop. To do that, simply hold down the Shift button and right-click on any blank area on your screen and select Open command window here.

8. Type in following command into the Command Prompt Window. Make sure to replace recovery.img with the actual name of the Recovery Image you downloaded:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

9. Once the recovery’s been flashed, reboot your device.

10. You’re done!

The CWM Recovery’s been successfully flashed on your device, let’s root your device now!

IV. Rooting the HTC Desire 600 Dual SIM:

1. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.

2. Copy the SU zip over to the root of your SD card.

3. Once the zip has been copied, disconnect your device from your PC.

4. Turn OFF your device.

5. Turn it back on by holding down Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.

6. Select Recovery from the options that appear on your screen.

7. In the Recovery, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.

8. Choose the SU zip to be flashed on your device.

9. As soon as you select the zip, it’ll begin flashing it on your device.

10. Once the zip has been flashed, reboot your device.

11. You’re all set!

Excellent! Your device’s been successfully rooted as well as equipped with a custom recovery to help you flash custom ROMs and Mods on your device!

  1. all was going ok now but after flashing the recovery when i power on my device holding powe+vloume down key and selet the recovery option my device stuck in entering recovery for hours , tell me the solution please

  2. I finished everything but when I pressed recovery in the last step, my screen turned black and there was a picture of a phone with a red exclamation with a triangle around it! 🙁 🙁 what do i do???

    i do this manual and after unlock and copy image file to phone, when i restart my phone and go to fast boot to recover rom i dont select anything and my phone power off and not turn on again. mu functional key not work at all and phone always off. just when i plug it in charge the notification led winking. what can i do? what’s the problem to search my solution. plz someone help me
