How to Unroot the Samsung Captivate Glide

Have you had enough playing with your rooted Samsung Captivate Glide? Want to get it back to stock firmware so you can start everything over? No problem, this guide should help you do that. Unrooting is a process that flashes the stock firmware on your device and allows you to start all your customizations from scratch. Here’s how you can unroot your Samsung Captivate Glide smartphone:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.

2. Your device should have at least 70% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Stock Firmware (Download the appropriate firmware for your device)

2. Odin

III. Unrooting the Samsung Captivate Glide:

1. Download and place both the archives onto your Desktop.

2. Unzip files from both the archives over to your Desktop.

3. Double-click on the Odin executable and it’ll launch.

4. Click on PDA and choose the Stock Firmware file you just extracted from the stock firmware archive.

5. Make sure Repartition is unchecked in the tool.

6. Checkmark the boxes that say Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.

7. Turn OFF your device.

8. Pull the battery out of your device and put it back in after about two minutes.

9. Press and hold Volume UP+Power buttons together.

10. Press the Volume UP button and you should be in Download mode.

11. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

12. Hit Start in the Odin and it’ll start flashing the Stock Firmware on your device.

13. Since you’re flashing an entire firmware, it’ll take some good time to finish the job.

14. Once the firmware’s been flashed, your device should automatically reboot.

15. And you’re done!

Congrats! Your device’s been unrooted and is now back to the stock firmware.
