How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery on the Pantech Burst

If you just rooted your Pantech Burst smartphone and now looking for some awesome goodies, like custom ROMs, then you will need the ClockworkMod Recovery installed on your phone. In this guide, we are going to show you how you can install the ClockworkMod Recovery on your Pantech Burst smartphone to enjoy the custom ROMs as well as do backups, flash tweaks, etc.

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the Pantech Burst procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.

2. Make sure that your device is charged at least 60% in order to go through the process without any problems.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. ClockworkMod Recovery Image (Download link’s given in the first post)

2. Fastboot

III. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the Pantech Burst:

1. Download and place both the files on your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the Fastboot archive to your Desktop.

3. Connect your smartphone to your PC using the USB cable.

4. Open a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop. To do so, press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard and right-click on any empty area on the screen, choose Open command window here from the context menu.

5. Issue the following command using the Command Prompt Window:

adb reboot bootloader

6. Your device should reboot into the bootloader mode. Wait for a few seconds.

7. When your device has booted up into the bootloader mode, issue the following commands:

fastboot flash recovery cwm-5.0.2.7-presto.img
fastboot reboot

8. It will flash the recovery on your device and then reboot it.

Great job! The CWM Recovery has successfully been flashed on your device. The custom ROMs can now easily be installed on your device using the CWM Recovery.
