How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Motorola Atrix HD
If you’ve rooted your Motorola Atrix HD smartphone and you wish to flash a custom ROM, then you’re gonna need a custom recovery as it’s the only way to get a custom ROM installed on your device. While there’s no official ClockworkMod Recovery available for the device, you can flash Safestrap Recovery and enjoy the goodness of it, at least until the CWM Recovery comes up. So, here’s how you can install Safestrap Recovery on your Motorola Atrix HD smartphone.
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have done our How to Root the Motorola Atrix HD procedure.
2. Your device should have at least 60% of battery life left.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Safestrap APK (Download link’s available in the first post)
III. Installing Safestrap Recovery on the Motorola Atrix HD:
1. Place the Safestrap APK file on the Desktop of your PC.
2. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy the APK file over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once copied, unplug your device from your PC.
5. Open the File Manager app on your device and install the APK you just copied.
6. Once installed, open it from your Menu.
7. Tap on Install Recovery button in the app and it’ll start flashing recovery on your device.
8. Once it’s done, reboot your device.
9. And you’re all set!
Awesome! Your device now has Safestrap Recovery installed on it and now it’s up to you on how you use it!
