We should have known, especially when it was vehemently denied by the Eric Schmidt himself, but ah well…you can’t blame us for being hopeful. The South Korean cellphone giant has now come out in the open and rejected all that was floating in the rumorverse, saying that they will surely be announcing an Android phone but it won’t be the Nexus Two. Instead, it is a dual-screen Android smartphone called the Samsung Continuum that will be available exclusively on Verizon.
The Continuum i400 will feature an additional ticker-like screen below the main display for instant alerts on email, messaging etc. The secondary display will also show the date, time and weather when the main display is in use. Also present is a special grip sensor that helps the display wake up when the phone is picked up. No Nexus Two this one, but still a neat little Android phone we say.
TheUnlockr: There is still a little hope as company’s deny stuff ALL the time and it comes out anyway. We’ll have to wait and see…
