Gingerbread on its way for the HTC Incredible S and Desire HD
The day is here and after a lot of teasing, the Gingerbread update is riding the air waves right now to the HTC Incredible S and Desire HD handsets around the world (sans US where they are known as the Droid Incredible 2 and the Inspire 4G). The build numbers after the update will be 2.36.405.8 and 2.12.405.7 for the Incredible S and the Desire HD respectively – so the update will only get you to Android 2.3.3, hence no video chat on GTalk.
There’s still no info on the update for the Droid Incredible and the Inspire 4G this side of the pond. Call it wishful thinking but we hope Google/HTC is taking its time to push the 2.3.4 update instead of 2.3.3 that’s doing the rounds right now.
