Android 3.1 upgrade now ready for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer in Europe

After announcement last month of the same, Asus has now stayed true to its word, rolling out the Android 3.1 update for the Eee Pad Transformer in Europe as we speak.  The device will be the first tablet from Asus to get the update announced last month during the Google I/O event.  If you didn’t know already, the Eee Pad Transformer is Asus’ take on the Android tablet, with one major difference – it can be “transformed” using an optional keyboard into a notebook.

Although not exactly a overhaul, the update does bring a few improvements, like the USB Host mode, an expanded Recent Apps list, resizable widgets and a redone UI.  There is now also support for Xbox 360 and Playstation controllers, which should aid in bringing gaming to the forefront on the Android platform.

The update is over the air, so you should be notified already but if you haven’t been yet, fret not as it will make its way to your Transformer eventually (if you are in Europe that is).
