Apple’s iOS 5 Tethered Jailbreak Within 24hrs of WWDC
Word of the jailbroken iOS 5 hit the Twitter stream less than 24 hours after Steve Jobs and Apple unveiled their newest iOS 5. MuscleNerd proved he was the first to suceed by uploading some pretty telling shots. MuscleNerd is well known in the iOS jailbreaking scene and also part creator of the Dev-Team Blog. The pictures depicted a jailbroken version of iOS 5 running on a 4th generation iPod Touch. MuscleNerd proved he had gained root access to the device and had already installed some jail break only apps.
The new jailbroken iOS 5 only works when tethered to a PC each and everytime the device is re-booted. Judging by how fast hackers were able to work their jailbreak magic, it’s only a matter of time before the untethered jailbreak surfaces.
