Nokia N9 Release Date, for Sweden at Least

So when Elop announced the Nokia N9 a couple of days ago, he said release date and pricing will be announced closer to it’s sale. Apparently, Swedish phone carrier, 3, didn’t get that memo. The phone company announced that same day that they will be carrying the Nokia N9 on September 23rd of this year. Now, for those of us not in Sweden, that might seem like information we could care less about. Keep in mind though that, most of the time at least, one device’s release date in one country is generally not too far off from that device’s release date in other countries as well. So it’s probably safe to say that the Nokia N9 will be expected to release around September.

Anyone else besides me kinda excited to see one of these in person? Anyone planning to buy one for themselves?

And for us living in Swedn it doesn’t matter either really. 3 (hi3G access) is the worst network from a power consumption and response time point of view. Reason: they don’t use “smart idling” (CELL_PCH or URA_PCH).
So what is good you might ask; well that’s Telia and Tele2/Comviq.

On top of that September seems like a loooong time 🙁

  2. Not quite excited of nokia not including options such as usb-on-the-go,a “cheaper” camera thou making a faster 1mhz processor and a 4″ SuperAMOLED display.
It’s exciting that it doesn’t have any buttons at all but sad that doesn’t have widgets ((
Maybe it will be a new experience with their new NFC technology, polycarbonate plastic but I rather prefer myself a N8 device

  3. Nokia N9 Target Release Markets Rapidly Expanding Beyond 23 Countries

Since the initial launch of the Nokia N9 handset in Singapore on the 21st of June, the list of International Markets targeted for the retail released has continued to expand beyond the list of the initial 23 countries without much ado.

The most notable additions are Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Indonesia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway and Philippines.

Afghanistan, Lebanon and Pakistan have been added to the 56 other countries covered under the tri-lingual Middle East and Africa Nokia website.
