The souped up version of the Sensation which we heard about recently is now official.  Dubbed the Sensation XE, the most obvious of the upgrades is its new garb, adopting red highlights on its edges and the row of buttons, to go with that prominent Beats Audio logo adorning its behind.  The handset will also come with a pair of branded in-ear headphones from Beats by Dre, which, when inserted, will switch the phone over to a specially tuned audio profile to enhance the user’s audio experience.  Delving in a little more, the Sensation XE will reveal a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a better power source, which is most likely to be the 1730mAh battery we heard about previously.  Other features will remain the same as the already released (and successful) Sensation with 8MP camera and Android 2.3 OS at the top of a venerable feature list.

The Sensation XE will be launched in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia some time later this month – as for a North American release, nothing was revealed but HTC would be foolish not to unleash such a beast on a market that is soon to be populated with superphones like the iPhone 5 or the Nexus Prime.

So, what do you guys think about this new avatar of the tried and tested Sensation?  Would you buy it at a bank-breaking $850 (as rumored earlier) or stay satisfied with the original HTC Sensation?  The Comments section awaits.

    The
    Beats feature on this phone along with speeding it up was a great move on HTC’s
    part. Along with awesome music hardware, there are also feature such as 4G and
    a dual-core processor that will make downloading movies and streaming music a
    snap! The app that I use to stream movies would be the DISH Remote Access app.
    I love this app because it lets me stream live TV from my 922 SlingLoaded
    receiver to my phone anywhere I am! As a customer and employee of DISH Network,
    I have been using the app for a long time, and I know it would do wonders on
    the Sensation XE! Hopefully it doesn’t take too long to get to the US!
     

  • Alright guys go grab a bunch of the HTC Sensations that everyone sent back because of all the random battery/wifi/data/grounding .. issues … and lets remake it.. screw making new phones better lets just add new flavors of existing phones and charge a whole bunch.. we can be like car companies that way and nobody will like us… but hey we are filthy rich..

    Dont like how u can get pretty much a sensation with headphones and cool colors for 800$ :

    maybe if they added 1gb of ram.. or changed ANY of the internals… but they did not
    ITS THE SAME EXACT PROCESSOR!!!!!!!

    hey guys just ocd from 1.2 to 1.5 can i buy a pair of beats headphones and resell my phone for 800$? ahh crap walmart sells red paint right?
