HTC Thunderbolt gets a pre-alpha build of Android 4.0

The source code for the Ice-Cream Sandwich update is yet to be released, but that hasn’t stopped some devs to get on and create a port anyway based on the SDK, which was made available immediately after the Galaxy Nexus unveiling recently.  One such dev, jdkoreclipse, on Rootzwiki has succeeded to some extent in doing this for the HTC Thunderbolt – and when we say some “extent”, it means that this pre-alpha version currently boots up and that’s about that.  The touchscreen is yet to start working and so are the other prominent components that are usually used on a droid but we don’t expect much more than this from a version as young as this.

Things should speed up once the source code for Android 4.0 is released though, and we’ll let you know when a stable/working ROM is available for download.  Meanwhile, you can keep an eye on the Rootzwiki thread for any future developments.
