Last batch of HP Touchpads to be sold this Sunday on eBay; price stays at $99

The saga of the ill-fated Touchpad could be officially over this Sunday, as HP is planning to sell its (refurbished) stock of the device through its eBay store this Sunday, December 11th. This was revealed when TechCrunch unearthed an email meant for HP employees so they get their toes in the door before the public has a chance at buying one, as HP seems to be making no discrimination between its employees and the general public this time and is offering the device on a first-come-first serve basis.

The sale will open at 6:00 for the HP employees with other eBay members getting a shot later on but only if they are prepared to buy the device via Paypal and ready to accept a limited warranty of three months.  Both the 16GB and 32GB models will be up for grabs and if you are thinking of taking home a horde and making a quick buck, you should know that the sale limits the number of devices to 2 per eBay ID.  Also available will be an accessory bundle (charging dock, wireless keyboard and a case) which will cost $79.

When this sale is over, HP is sure to bid the Touchpad a final goodbye, but devs have already picked up where HP left off and we should be seeing a stable Android version running on it smoothly in the near future.
