HTC Admits To Dropping The Ball With Its Bulky, Poor Battery Life, LTE Handsets
HTC has always managed to wow us with their consistently impressive earning reports until recently with the release of their 2011 Q4 earnings. With the Q4 report leaving HTC feeling disappointed, CFO Winston Yung was quick to identify the problem. Yung admitted in today’s earnings call that HTC “dropped the ball” with its portfolio of LTE devices. In his own word Yung explains that,
“the bulky handsets simply failed on a design and spec level — especially when it came to battery life — and were not selling nearly as well as expected.”
HTC promises to turn their situation around with a new product line up expected to be unveiled during this year’s Mobile World Congress.
