Android App of the Day: Octopus

With a continuous influx of gaming apps to hit the Google Play Store on a daily basis, it can get overwhelming to sift through all of them in search of a decent game. Sometimes I am in the mood to just kill a little time with a brain puzzle game. For my taste the best type of brain puzzles are the ones that keep you on your mental toes and keep you from getting bored easily. After talking to some of my trusted app addicts, I was turned on to the Octopus app for Android. This app offers obnoxiously fun and addictive game play that can be enjoyed at all ages. With thousands of free levels and each level requiring a different strategy, this app makes it hard to put down.

How it works:

The premise of the game is that you have to help the Octopuses protect their oceanic territory. You can achieve this by filling each board strategically with the limited number of Octopuses you are provided with. Each Octopus has tentacles which can be directed in all eight directions. Your Octopuses will have to cover as much territory as possible without ever attacking one an other. To complete a level there has to be no unoccupied spots left. This game comes equipped with tons of free levels to work your way through. As you conquer each level the game play increases its challenges and becomes more complicated to play.

Here are the basics:

• Tap once to place your Octopus.
• Tap again to remove from the board.

Conclusion:
Octopus is a fun and addictive brain puzzle for gaming enthusiasts of all ages. The HD graphics are impressive and the simple rules make this game easy to dive right into. For this reason alone, Octopus is a great game to introduce to children to play. I loved how each level increases in difficulty which kept me from getting bored too easily. I’ve been playing Octopus on and off for weeks now and would recommend this app as a worthy download to anyone searching a fun way to pass the time and work your brain muscles at the same time.
