How to Get Your Verizon Galaxy Tab (SCH-I800) Back to Stock and Unroot It
If you want to get your Verizon Galaxy Tab back to stock for any reason, this post should help you do it. Read on to know how!
I. Before You Begin
You will lose your data as this procedure will flash a stock rooted ROM, so make sure you back up what you feel is important before proceeding.
II. Necessary Downloads
2. SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse.zip.
3. Heimdall Suite 1.1.1.
III. Flashing the Stock ROM
1. Boot your device into Download Mode. To do this, with the device powered off, press the Volume Down + Power button until it boots into Download Mode.
2. Connect your device to your PC.
3. Extract the heimdall-suite-1.1.1-win32.zip file you downloaded above to a folder on your desktop.
4. If you haven’t installed drivers already, use zadig.exe present in the Drivers folder to install them.
5. From the extracted folder, run heimdall-frontend.exe.
6. Extract the VZW 2_3_5 Stock Root.rar file to a folder on your desktop.
7. From the extracted folder, load the relevant files into relevant sections on Heimdall as you see in the screenshot below.
8. Click on Start.
IV. Unrooting the Galaxy Tab
1. Enable USB Debugging on your device. To do this, go to Settings > Application > Development and tick the Enable USB Debugging checkbox.
2. Connect your device to your PC.
3. Extract SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse.zip to a folder on your desktop.
4. From the extracted folder, run SuperOneClick.exe and click on Donate Later (Click on Donate Now if you would like to donate to Shortfuse).
5. Finally, click on Unroot and follow the on-screen instructions.
That’s it! You should now be holding a Samsung Galaxy Tab running Android 2.3.5 that is completely unmolested!!
Thanks go to dsb9938 for providing the stock ROM and to Shortfuse for the SuperOneClick tool!! You can always donate to them if you liked their work by clicking on their names!!
How do you do this with firmware version 2.2 froyo? I have looked everywhere on the web in order to do this and can’t find anything. Thanks.
I used this method on my verizon galaxy tab and while in hemidall put the pit file in the pit slot, and the start button didnt light up. I left the pit box unchecked and the start button came alive. It worked! I came from cyanogen9, MDT, and apparently it repartitioned my device and everything booted just fine. The home button doesnt work in some cases but thats fine with me.
glad to know it worked out for you!! 🙂
I am doing every step you listed but when I click on start in the heimdall I get error 12 failed to access device. any ideas

this should solve it sherry!
First of all, thank you. This tutorial was amazing.
Secondly, I get stuck at the Verizon Wireless logo after flashing. When I go into recovery mode, I get a bunch of red errors about the cache.Wiping data and the cache does not change this. Please advise!
I just bought a refurbished verizon galaxy tab 2.2… Sadly, the Tab came with the former owner’s info that I can’t get rid off… I did a Hard Reset, tried to root it via Z4root, tried an Unlockroot… but every time the Tab reboots with the previous image info. I follow all the steps of your tutorial, and the Tab upgrade to 2.3.5, but stills reboot with the wrong image!!!
What else can I try to reboot it as new? I will appreciate your help!
after doing step 2 my tablet is stuck on the verizon screen…I followed everything to a t.
never mind, I had to do a manual wipe
