AT&T Announces Two New HTC Smartphones, Also Reveals Will Be The First To Offer the Samsung Galaxy Camera

AT&T  has been busy beefing up their device portfolio in preparation for the upcoming holiday shopping season and on Thursday announced several upcoming devices. The company plans to add two new HTC smartphones and will be the first to launch Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Camera.

AT&T consumers will soon be able to get their hands on the exclusive HTC One X+ and the One VX. Here’s what we know about the two devices. The HTC One X+ will ship Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ready and will come equipped with a full 64 GB of storage. The phone will sport the 1.7Ghz Tegra 3 quad-core processor and a fifth core dedicated solely to light activity. The other four cores are designed to come into play for all of of your beloved apps that require a bit more juice. This device will feature a 4.7-inch HD screen, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and will only be available in black.

The HTC One VX is aimed at a different demographic with its lower-end specs. Highlights include a 4.5-inch display, a 5-megapixel rear camera and will ship running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

AT&T left out exact prices but did say the devices would be “coming soon”.

Ma Bell also took this opportunity to reveal that it will be the first U.S. carrier to offer the Samsung Galaxy Camera. The camera will be an Android-powered point-and-shoot device.  Camera and Android aficionados alike can look forward to specs including a 4.8-inch HD screen, a quad-core 1 Ghz processor, and the ability to run on AT&T’s 4G LTE network. The camera will come Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ready. This baby sports an impressive 16-megapixel sensor and a retractable lens that has 21x optical zoom. Users will be able to download all their favorite photo sharing apps like Facebook and Instagram right on the camera and will be able to load pictures from the camera to the apps. Pricing for the Galaxy Camera will be confirmed when the camera hits retail shelves in the “coming week”.
