Public Release of iOS 6 / 6.1 Jailbreak Tool Evasi0n For Windows And Mac Coming Soon

Modders, hackers, and jailbreakers alike have been buzzing with talk about the impending release of the untethered iOS 6 Evasi0n jailbreak tool. The good news is that the wait is nearly over as the Evad3rs team  announced that development is sailing forward for all supported platforms.

The team’s website has been keeping the public involved by posting frequent updates about the tool’s status. Currently the untethered was being classified as 68% complete, with Windows and OS X versions of the new jailbreak tool being complete. Now, we’re just left waiting on the Linux variant.

When the jailbreak tool is released out into the wild it will fully support 22 devices on all iterations of iOS 6.x. With so many devices to support you can imagine the rigorous testing phases the tool has to go through before its final launch. The tool is now going through the final private beta testing phase, but as long as there are no big surprises we are still looking at a Sunday launch.

We’re excited to see this tool on the home stretch, as it will support three major desktop platforms when it’s all said and done.

Evasi0n will support all firmwares from iOS 6.0 through iOS 6.1, and will be compatible with following devices:

  • iPhone 5
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPad 4
  • iPad 3
  • iPad 2
  • iPad mini
  • iPod touch 5
  • iPod touch 4
  • Apple TV 2
