How to Unroot the Motorola Milestone 3
Have you screwed-up your Motorola Milestone 3 smartphone? Want to make it run as good as it was? No worries, this procedure will help you do that. Unrooting installs the stock firmware on your device and thus, everything gets wiped off and you can then start using your device from a fresh state. So, here’s how you can do that:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.
2. Your device needs to have at least 70% of battery life left.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Stock Firmware (Download the appropriate firmware for your device)
2. RSD Lite (It’s attached in the first post)
III. Unrooting the Motorola Milestone 3:
1. Place both the files you downloaded to your Desktop.
2. Unzip files from RSD Lite archive over to your Desktop.
3. Double-click on the RSD Lite’s executable file and follow the installation instructions.
4. Head over to Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.
5. Once installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
6. Hit Bootloader option in the app and your device will reboot into bootloader mode.
7. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
8. Launch the RSD Lite program from your Desktop.
9. Click on “…” and choose the Stock Firmware file available on your Desktop.
10. Hit Start and it’ll begin flashing the firmware on your device.
11. Once the firmware has been flashed, reboot your device.
12. And you’re all done!
Awesome! You’ve successfully unrooted your Motorola Milestone 3 and you’ll notice that the Superuser app no longer exists in your App Drawer!
