How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Alcatel One Touch M’Pop OT-5020x

Ever wished if you could install a custom ROM on your Alcatel One Touch M’Pop OT-5020x smartphone? Well, your wish’s been fulfilled and you can now flash a custom recovery on your device and then get started with flashing ROMs. Here’s how:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC.

2. This should only work on Windows based PCs.

II. Downloading Required Files:

1. Alcatel One Touch Package (Download link’s given in the first post)

III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Alcatel One Touch M’Pop OT-5020x:

1. Download and place the Package onto your Desktop.

2. Extract files from the package over to your Desktop.

3. Double-click on the SP Flash Tool executable file and it’ll open.

4. Click Options and ensure that the USB Mode is selected.

5. Hit Scatter-loading button and choose the Scatter file — MT6575_Android_scatter_emmc.txt — you extracted from the archive.

6. A number of options will appear on your screen. Uncheck all of them except for the Recovery option.

7. Click on Recovery and choose the Recovery file — ALCATEL-ONE-TOUCH-5020X__root_recovery.img — you extracted from the archive.

8. Hit the Download button.

9. Turn OFF your device.

10. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.

11. It should begin flashing the recovery on your device.

12. Once the recovery’s been flashed, reboot your device.

13. And you’re done!
