HTC Offers the “HTC Super One”: Unlocked LTE Compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile
Good things often come to those who sit patiently and wait it out, and this seems to be true in the case of the recently launched HTC One. If you weren’t part of the first wave of eager consumers to run to your nearest carrier store and scoop up the device, then you may be pleasantly surprised that you held out. The quietly brilliant manufacturer has quietly placed LTE into their unlocked, flagship phone. That’s right… unlocked and LTE that works on both AT&T and T-Mobile’s LTE network. Granted T-Mobile doesn’t have a gigantic LTE offering, we’ll take what we can get.
So, why is this such a milestone for HTC? Well, they are able to do something Google hasn’t been able to achieve: offer an unlocked phone that works on GSM voice and HSPA+ data, and with LTE support from two major US carriers.
Don’t expect to waltz into a brick and mortar AT&T or T-Mobile store for this gem. In order to get your paws on the “HTC Super One” you’ll need to buy it direct from HTC. It’s sold for $574.99, $25 less than AT&T’s full price for their locked version. Bad news is that it’s currently back ordered until the end of May, but hey- you’re patient and this device is definitely worth the wait.
