How to Disable App Notifications in Windows 8
The most annoying thing that we all suffer from on Windows PCs is app notifications. Every now and then, you get a notification saying that the app needs an update, database is obsolete and so on. It really distracts us and there seems to be no way to get these app notifications disabled on Windows 7 and previous versions. However, the Windows 8 brings an option to disable such annoying notifications and have a peaceful environment, here’s how you can disable the app notifications on your Windows 8.
I. Disabling App Notifications in Windows 8:
1. Press the Windows Logo+I keys together and a menu will appear in the right-hand side.
2. Click on Change PC settings as shown below.
3. Click the Notifications option button given in the left-hand side.
4. Turn the Show app notifications slider OFF.
5. And you’re done!
Brilliant! You’ve successfully disabled the app notifications on your Windows 8 PC. From now on, you won’t have to suffer from any kind of notifications and you now have a distraction-free working environment!

dosent work, update notification are still there after disabling from PC settings
Didn’t work for me either. Navy notification still there. sigh
Does this work for windows 8 mobile phones?? HOw can I disable notifications on my phone??
Any time the PC restarts the notifications get enabled again? Is there a permanent fix to this?
