How to Disable Lock Screen in Windows 8

Windows 8 brings a new screen with it called Lock Screen that appears after you’ve been idle for some time. While it’s obvious that it doesn’t make any difference working with the PC, it’s a good idea to disable it. Disabling Lock Screen in Windows 8 can be accomplished by following a couple of steps given below. So, there you go:

I. Disabling Lock Screen in Windows 8:

1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows Logo+R keys together.

2. Type in gpedit.msc and hit ENTER.

Type in gpedit.msc and hit ENTER

3. In the window that opens, navigate to the following path:

Computer Configuration>>Administrative Templates>>Control Panel>>Personalization

4. Once there, double-click on the entry titled as Do not display the lock screen.

Click on the aforementioned option

5. On the next window, you’ll need to select Enabled and hit Apply as shown below.

Disable Lock Screen
Select Enabled and hit Apply

6. And you’re done!

Excellent! The lock screen has been disabled on your PC and you can re-enable it by just following above steps and selecting Disabled in the step-5.
