How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Acer Iconia Tab A110
The next step you should take after rooting your device is flash a custom recovery. It’ll allow you to flash custom ROMs, Mods and Tweaks on your device as well as let you make nandroid backups of your device. Sounds interesting? huh. Let us show you how you can flash a custom recovery on your Acer Iconia Tab A110:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Check out our guide on the same to do so.
2. You should have appropriate drivers installed on your PC. If you don’t, get them from here.
3. This works on Windows based PCs only.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. ClockworkMod Recovery Image (Download link’s given in the first post)
2. Fastboot
III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Acer Iconia Tab A110:
1. Place both the files you downloaded to your Desktop.
2. Unzip files from the Fastboot archive over to your Desktop.
3. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by going to Menu>>Settings>>Developer options>>USB debugging.
4. Plug in your device to your PC via USB cable.
5. Launch a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop. To do so, simply hold down the Shift button and right-click anywhere on your Desktop and select Open command window here.
6. Type in following command into the Command Prompt Window:
adb reboot bootloader
7. Your device should reboot into the bootloader mode.
8. Now issue the following command replacing recovery.img with the actual name of the Recovery Image you downloaded:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
9. Once the recovery’s been flashed, reboot your device.
10. You’re all set!
Brilliant! You’ve successfully flashed a custom recovery on your Iconia Tab A110 device. Now go ahead and try your favorite custom ROMs out!
