How to Unroot the Acer Iconia Tab A510
Maybe you’re going to sell your device? Or maybe you’re just visiting the service center? Either way, unrooting your device will help. Unrooting your device will reinstate its warranty as well as you’ll be back on stock. Here’s how you can do that:
I. Before You Begin:
1. You should have rooted your device using the procedure given here.
2. This should work on Windows based PCs only.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Stock Recovery (Download link’s available in the first post)
2. Stock Firmware (Download the appropriate firmware for your device)
3. Fastboot
III. Unrooting the Acer Iconia Tab A510:
1. Place all the files you downloaded to your Desktop.
2. Unzip files from Fastboot as well as Stock Recovery archives over to your Desktop.
3. Rename the Stock Firmware archive to update.zip.
4. Turn ON the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
5. Once it’s been enabled, plug in your device to your PC via USB cable.
6. Copy the update.zip file over to the root of your SD card.
7. Now launch a Command Prompt Window on your Desktop by holding down the Shift button and right-click anywhere on your Desktop and select Open command window here.
8. Type in following command into the Command Prompt Window:
adb reboot bootloader
9. Next issue the following command replacing recovery.img with the actual name of the Recovery Image you downloaded:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
10. Type in following command to reboot your device:
fastboot reboot
11. And your device will reboot.
12. Turn OFF your device.
13. Turn it back on by holding down the Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.
14. It’ll automatically start flashing the stock firmware file that you copied earlier to your device.
15. Once it’s been flashed, reboot your device.
16. And you’re all done!
Brilliant! Your Iconia Tab A510 has been successfully unrooted and you’re back to stock.
