How to Root the Pantech Crossover
Pantech Crossover runs Android as its operating system and thus it can be rooted just like any other Android device out there. If you’re not aware of advantages of rooting, let me shed a light on it. Root allows you to install root-only apps, access system-level files and eventually flash a custom recovery, the sky is the limit. So, if you’ve made your mind and want to root your Pantech Crossover, here’s how:
I. Before You Begin:
1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reinstate the warranty by unrooting your device if there’s any unrooting procedure available.
2. You must have a memory card inserted in your device.
3. Make sure your device has at least 50% of battery life left.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. GingerBreak APK (It’s attached in the second post)
III. Rooting the Pantech Crossover:
1. Place the GingerBreak APK on your Desktop.
2. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy the GingerBreak APK over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once it’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.
5. Enable the USB debugging option on your device by heading to Menu>>Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB debugging.
6. Open the File Manager app on your device and install the GingerBreak app.
7. Once the app’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
8. Hit Root button in the app and it’ll start rooting your device.
9. Reboot your device once it’s been rooted.
10. You’re done!
Congratulations! Your Pantech Crossover has been successfully rooted and the Superuser app has been installed to help you manage root-permissions!
