How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T)
There’re various custom recoveries available for the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T) and one of the finest among them is the ClockworkMod Recovery. Based on a simple concept, the recovery allows users to perform basic as well as advanced actions on their devices. You can wipe your device, flash custom ROMs, install Mods and flash all sorts of flashable content on your device with a custom recovery. So let’s see how you can get this CWM Recovery installed on your Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T):
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T) procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.
2. Make sure your device has at least 60% of battery life left.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. CWM Recovery Flashable ZIP (Download link’s given in the first post)
III. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (AT&T):
1. Place the CWM Recovery Flashable ZIP on your Desktop.
2. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy the Recovery zip over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once it’s been copied, disconnect your device from your PC.
5. Turn OFF your device.
6. Turn it back on by holding down Volume UP+Volume DOWN+Power buttons together.
7. You should reboot into the custom recovery mode.
8. Once in Recovery, select Install and choose the CWM Recovery zip to be installed on your device.
9. It’ll begin installing the recovery on your device, will take a minute or two to finish.
10. Once the recovery’s been flashed, reboot your device.
11. You’re all done!
