Samsung shoots down Nexus Two rumors, reveals Samsung Continuum for November 8

We should have known, especially when it was vehemently denied by the Eric Schmidt himself, but ah well…you can’t blame us for being hopeful.  The South Korean cellphone giant has now come out in the open and rejected all that was floating in the rumorverse, saying that they will surely be announcing an Android phone but it won’t be the Nexus Two.   Instead, it is a dual-screen Android smartphone called the Samsung Continuum that will be available exclusively on Verizon.

The Continuum i400 will feature an additional ticker-like screen below the main display for instant alerts on email, messaging etc.  The secondary display will also show the date, time and weather when the main display is in use.  Also present is a special grip sensor that helps the display wake up when the phone is picked up.  No Nexus Two this one, but still a neat little Android phone we say.

TheUnlockr: There is still a little hope as company’s deny stuff ALL the time and it comes out anyway. We’ll have to wait and see…

  1. You’re wrong. The nexus two is real. Of course the companies in question will deny it. Wait until the 8th. You’ll see…

    1. Dont tell Dax he’s wrong lol he simply reported that the Nexus Two was denied by Samsung. It could still exist. You sound like someone with some inside info? Care to share? 🙂

    2. Jay, as Dave says it below, right now nothing is concrete, and this is just Samsung’s take on the matter at this point in time. Come Nov 8, we actually wouldn’t be surprised if they did an about-turn and reveal the N2

  2. Well even if it doesn’t come out right on the 8th that would suck but that still don’t mean it’s not coming but either way we will all appreciate the phone once it’s here how can anybody deny that Android isn’t the top smartphone devices even without the nexus 2, but once that comes out there should be no more Apple talk or this whole Windows 7 nonsense. I am on a mission to convert as many people I as I can to switch to Android and once I have my Nexus 2 in hand to show off it will be even easier then before!!!!!!!!!!
