How to Flash a Custom Recovery on the Acer beTouch E140
If installing root-only apps just doesn’t cut it for you, better you go ahead and flash some custom ROMs on your device. These ROMs will provide you with an all new user interface as well as some other features that you don’t have on your stock ROM. But before you can flash a ROM, you’re going to need a custom recovery. Fortunately a custom recovery’s available for the Acer beTouch E140 smartphone and the guide below shows how you can get it up and running on your device without much hassle.
I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your device before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the Acer beTouch E140 procedure first, finish it, then return to this procedure and continue.
2. This procedure works on Windows based PCs only.
II. Downloading Required Files:
III. Flashing a Custom Recovery on the Acer beTouch E140:
1. Download and place the Recovery Package on your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the package over to your Desktop.
3. Turn OFF your device.
4. Turn it back on by holding down Volume DOWN+Volume UP+Power buttons together.
5. Your device should now be in Fastboot mode.
6. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
7. Double-click on amx_recovery_install.cmd available on your Desktop.
8. Follow the on-screen instructions to flash the recovery on your device.
9. And you’re done!
Excellent! You’ve successfully flashed a custom recovery on your device and now is the perfect time to load some custom ROMs on your device!
