Notion Ink’s Adam tablet now available on preorder
Touted to be the iPad killer, the Adam has been in the making for a long time now. And now that it’s out, looking at its specs, we have to say it does have a fair chance at doing exactly that. Coming from Notion Ink, the Adam is jammed to the hilt with features and packs a dual-core Cortex A9 processor on the Nvidia Tegra 250 SoC. The exact version of Android running on the tablet is not known but it would be safe to assume at least Froyo, if not Gingerbread. Ambient light sensor, GPS, 3-axis accelerometer and full HD video-out also make an appearance.
There is a long list of features and here are some of them:
- 10.1-inch WSVGA (1024 x 600) trasnflective multitouch display
- Wi-Fi, WWAN and 3G HSPA network Compliance; Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- 3.2 MP autofocus swivel camera rotating up to 185 degrees
- 1GB DDR2 RAM
- Expandable memory up to 128 GB via MicroSD
- USB 2.0 ports x2
- Mini-USB port
- HDMI-out port supporting 1080p video
Other than the single letdown on the camera front, the device seems just about perfect. The Notion Ink Adam is available in two variants and can be preordered at a price of $375.33 (WiFi only) and $425.33 (WiFi and 3G support). The tablet’s companion product, the Pixel Q1, has already run out of stock, so if you are interested in the Adam, make haste.

Specs don’t dictate whether it has market access to be honest. It’s whether they paid Google licensing fees for the Google Apps (which include the Market, GMail, etc.) So long as they paid for that package it’ll have the Market, otherwise it won’t.
YES. This is exactly what I have been waiting for!
