How to Unroot the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (Canada)
Perhaps you’re done playing with root and custom ROMs on your Android device? Regardless of the reason, it’s usually pretty easy to unroot your device and go back to the stock firmware.
Some of the reasons for unrooting your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 are:
- Sending in the device for warranty (most, but not all unrooting procedures reinstate the manufacturer warranty if you had one before rooting).
- Starting over (simply undoing everything you did while rooted so you can have a clean slate to start over).
- Fix any issues (Maybe rooting messed something up? No problem, unrooting will take care of it for you).
Ready to get started? Here’s how to unroot the Samsung Galaxy Note 2:
I. Before You Begin
1. This should unroot the Canadian variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
2. This should only work on Windows based PCs.
II. Downloading Required Files
1. Download Odin and save it to your Desktop.
2. Download the appropriate stock firmware for your device and save it to your Desktop.
III. Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (Canada)
1. Extract files from Odin and Stock Firmware by right-clicking on each of them and selecting Extract here.
2. Double-click on Odin executable and it’ll open.
3. Click on PDA and choose the stock firmware file you just extracted from the archive.
4. Make sure Repartition is unchecked in the Odin.
5. Checkmark the boxes that say Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.
6. Turn OFF your device.
7. Turn it back on by holding down Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons together.
8. Press Volume UP and you should be in Download mode.
9. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
10. Hit Start in the Odin and it should start flashing the stock firmware on your device.
11. Once the firmware’s been flashed, your device should automatically reboot.
12. You’re all done!
All set! You are now running stock firmware on your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and have unrooted it.
